About Us – A Lutheran Church in Spicewood, Texas

We are people diversely centered in Christ, inspired by the Holy Spirit, and sent to share God’s love in the world.

What does this mean? We have a spirit of openness to live, serve, and grow together. We are young, old, middle-aged, gay, straight, single, married, partnered, from different backgrounds and cultures.

We are lifelong Lutherans, former something elses, seekers, questioners. We want to be caring in times of crisis or joy.  We want to be a place to build meaningful relationships. We want to be loved for who we are in this moment. We are fun. We are hopeful to become the Spirit who dwells within us. As a community of faith and individuals called to life’s different vocations, we are committed to sharing the gifts of the Spirit generously throughout the Lake Travis area, including Spicewood, Lakeway, and Bee Cave.

We exist by God’s grace to love and serve our neighbors so that they would know God’s love and God’s mission would be furthered.

What does this mean? We believe that the reason God has put us in this place at this time is so that the Lake Travis area, including Spicewood, Lakeway, and Bee Cave, would experience the grace and unconditional love of God for them exactly as they are, and that by living out that divine, unconditional love for all people, God’s work of reconciling the world will be furthered.

How do we go about living out this identity and purpose?

  • We CONNECT to God and one another through worship, breaking bread together, having fun, and meeting our neighbors.
  • We EQUIP each other by identifying our strengths, learning about scripture and living faith in daily life, asking questions and growing.
  • We SERVE God and neighbor through a variety of ministry programs and community partners, and by loving people exactly as they are.
  • We GIVE generously of ourselves, our time, our possessions because we know that everything we have is a gift from God.
